Can shopping really help the economy?

Seems strange that shopping can help our economy, but it can. Think about it. We are in the midst of the credit crisis, housing crisis, oil crisis, and the U.S. auto crisis. Because we are surrounded by bad news and we know people losing their jobs and homes, we are overcome by fear and think we should not spend money.

Not spending creates a consumption crisis that many think is the most deadly. When we stop spending every business and industry is threatened including our cities and government that depend on tax revenue to run essential services.

We all suffer. Churches, social services, health services, the list goes on. You see it every day in the news.

Let's make a point and go shopping December 6th and 7th and show the World we can make a difference if we put our mind to it. Buy a house, car, stereo, furniture, clothes, anything you've been putting off.

We want the headlines and news to report positive retail reports and buzz Monday the 8th! Please pledge to spend and make this effort a reality.

Once we prove it works, I'll be up to us to regain the confidence in our economy and consume as we have in the past. We are not asking you to go into debt. Shop only if you have the means to do so.

Go shopping. Have fun!
