"This is very cool. There are many complexities and unfortunate situations that shifted our economy into what is now a recession. But the the driving force behind it all, as you mention, is fear and paranoia. It will continue declining should media outlets fail to back-off from printing the ever-depressing headlines, how everything is "going to hell in a hand-basket". I hoped we would get a bit of optimistic lift in lieu of the elections, but that was not the case. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the market will rebound by this coming spring/summer. "Couldn’t agree more. American consumers have the purchasing power to stop this recession dead in its tracks. We can rebuild our manufacturing sector. We can do it fairly quickly if we support our economy first. We shouldn’t buy American products that are junk either but be should buy the best and most innovative good made here in the USA. We must be willing to pay more since we are not about to move our incomes and standard of living down to the China level but we can make up for higher prices by buying fewer higher quality items just as you suggest."
